The heart is not like a box that gets filled up; it expands in size the more you love. Samantha (Her)
I expected nothing when I saw this movie. I didn't browse about it before. I just knew that it won 'Best Original Screenplay' in Academy Awards 2014 so I was sure this movie would not be disappointing. And yes, it was not disappointing at all.
Five days passed when I wrote this post and I still felt like broken-heart girl.
Five days passed and the Moon Song still played over and over again in my head.
As a strong and independent woman (wannabe), I always tried to hold my tears. However, this movie, in its very beginning scene, succeed inviting tears gather in my eyes.
The film didn't offer flowery scenes. Just simple portrait of a guy's life in his way of divorcing and finding a new love and life. With its simple yet deep, meaningful, and sweet dialogues, I could feel his loneliness. And do you see Joaquin Phoenix's mimic on the poster? It said it all.
Her offered different kind of love-story movie. It's not just another love-drama movie. Her was not focusing on how you get the love of your life after facing (unrealistic) obstacles but it focused on how you survive being in love. It tried to dig deeper meaning of love....
It's like I'm reading a book and it's a book I deeply love. But I'm
reading it slowly now. So the words are really far apart and the spaces
between the words are almost infinite. I can still feel you and the
words of our story but it's in this endless space between the words
that I'm finding myself now. It's a place that's not of the physical
world. It's where everything else is that I didn't even know existed. I
love you so much. But this is where I am now. And this who I am now. And
I need you to let me go. As much as I want to, I can't live your book
any more.Sam.
